MoonCats have kept the fun alive in North Dakota’s music scene for all ages since 2018. After countless shows and several tours across the region and country, this tuned-in trio prides itself on singalong originals and the occasional cover. Using a mix of American roots instruments, Slinger, Danny, and Sky paint a picture of the plains and sing of the times.
They’re a fiery and fuzzy three-piece, stomping up acoustic roots remedies with meaningful messages — a soul-filled sound that can tap into the oldest hickory on the farm and a youthful presence that’ll get the youngest toe-tappers talking.They’ve released three self-produced albums from North Dakota: their self-titled debut MoonCats (2018), Hot Tea (2021), and Clowder (2024), all mastered by Tyler Pilot of Red Dot Recording (Mandan, ND). Their fourth album Animal Style was released in 2025 with two full length national tours in support following. The band also continues to put out new music online, streaming wherever you listen! And of course at the campfire!
Now based in Pick City, North Dakota, the Cats have performed in 13 states and shared stages with Pert Near Sandstone, Henhouse Prowlers, G. Love & Special Sauce, Useful Jenkins, the Flea Bitten Tramps, Ben Suchy, Art Rude, Gypsyfoot, and many more. Come enjoy new and old-time music played live on banjo, washboard, upright bass, mandolin, guitar, and harmonica with MoonCats!
